Creating a Learning Plan
The CREATE template is based on STARTALK-endorsed principles and will guide you through a backward design process for creating a standards-based and thematically organized learning plan - whether for an activity, lesson, unit, or an entire program. Follow the template and refer to the help in the right sidebar learn more about designing a learning plan!
Overview Information
You will first be asked to complete certain information about your plan. This descriptive information will help other educators find and use your learning resource.
Lesson Image
You will add an attractive image that displays with your learning plan. Ensure your image has permissions that allow it to be shared, or Search The Commons on Flickr for an openly licensed image.
Selecting a Creative Commons License
Teaching and learning materials in CREATE are Open Educational Resources (OER) that you may freely use and reuse at no cost, and without needing to ask permission. These materials have been given Creative Commons license that allows you to freely download a resource and share it with colleagues and students. In other cases, you may be able to download a resource, edit it in some way, and then re-post it as an adapted work.
You will assign a license to your learning plan. Use the license selector to indicate if you want it to be able to be adapted or used only for educational purposes (most common), and the system will generate the correct license for you! Learn more about Creative Commons licenses.
