1. What are the strengths of this specific lesson plan on Create?
The strengths are 1) The lesson plan covers the three modes of communication; 2) Every task is timed which keeps the lesson very organized; 3) Learning objectives are listed clearly; 4) For every learning objective there is checking understanding method listed next to the objective; 5) The use of authentic images and YouTube videos which shows the variety of the material used. This variety keeps students interested in the lesson.
2. What are the strengths of your lesson plan?
My lesson plan has the following strengths 1) I teach family vocabulary and numbers covering the three modes of communication, 2) I always time my students on every task, 3) I check students’ understanding, 3) in addition, to the drills I give my students, I play games like Bingo and include a culture component to the lesson like teaching about the family of Prophet Mohamed
3. What ideas can you adopt from this lesson plan?
I think I can adopt the use of a variety of material and authentic images. Although I use a PowerPoint to activate the family vocabulary and numbers, I don’t necessarily use authentic videos. I only use the videos on the textbook.
1_strengths of the lesson plan : this lesson plan did clarify the organization of the ideas and the topic, the author clarified ( topic/the grade range/the type of learners/the learning environment...)also clarify the objectives or the goals from the session , this lesson plan specified the time , the teacher divided the session to cover the topic , what I liked the most , that the teacher added to her plan checking understanding method to make sure that her session covered completely her lesson, before going forward to a new session.
But to my opinion, the time slot should be longer, or the objectives are shorter, focusing on the family members alone without getting into new topic (the numbers), specially it's for nonnative speakers' learners.
2_The strengths in my lesson plan:
_Teaching the family tree by first clarifying the tittle of the lesson on the top followed by the objectives covering the 3 modes of communication, always I add the briefly the learning content, divide my time accurately, each time slot has the teaching materials/the phrase/vocabs /the activity where can I check that my students understand the ideas smoothly / notes for this part of the session...
3_ From the lesson plan listed above, I can adopt beside my teaching materials, the Quizlet as a tool to help self-assess the knowledge of my students.
